Cordoba has emerged as the new epicentre of the country’s gourmet burger scene. The restaurant Nolito’s has claimed the title of Spain’s Best Burger 2025 with its creation “Diamante Azul”, the overall winner of the sixth edition of The Champions Burger, whose grand final was held in the Madrid region.

The victory follows a fiercely contested competition that brought together the 24 best burgers in Spain after a ten-month tour covering more than 50 cities across 16 autonomous regions. Over 300 burger restaurants took part in what has been the most ambitious edition to date, attracting close to six million visitors. As is tradition in the competition, the final decision was made by the public through direct voting.
“Diamante Azul”: a burger that breaks the mould
The winning burger stood out for both its originality and bold presentation. “Diamante Azul” features a blue brioche bun infused with diamond powder and rose gold, paired with a premium matured fat smash beef patty, American-style ribs, bacon jam, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, smoked mayonnaise and a signature Emmy sauce. A daring combination that ultimately captured the public’s vote.
A double podium finish for Cordoba
The success did not stop at first place. Second prize also went to a restaurant from this Spanish city. Godeo secured the runner-up position with its “Royale Gold Final Edition”, a burger that consistently ranked among the favourites throughout the competition. Its recipe includes a brioche bun coated in edible gold, rib-eye beef, pastrami, veal ribs slow-cooked for 48 hours, cured beef jam, smoked sour cream, bacon bits and Emmy sauce.
Third place was awarded to Street Food, from Seville, with “La Gamberra 3.0”, an updated version of its flagship burger. The recipe combines a mozzarella-filled bun coated in Doritos Bits with a fat smash patty, smoked ribs, cheddar cheese, Gamberra sauce and caramelised bacon bits.
A growing gastronomic phenomenon
Nacho Martínez-Medina, CEO of The Champions Burger, described this year’s edition as “a genuine gastronomic phenomenon”, highlighting the overwhelming public response and the event’s continued growth. He confirmed that the competition will continue to expand internationally, with new routes and formats already in development.
Barcelona to decide Europe’s best burger
The international phase of the competition will continue later this year, with the European final taking place at the Fòrum in Barcelona from 27 November to 14 December. Over 19 days, Spain’s top burgers will compete alongside entries from Andorra, Germany, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Sweden.
Once again, the public will have the final say in choosing the Best Burger in Europe.
